Here’s the check.
Not only did it obviously cost more than a penny to produce this check, but they mailed it in an envelope that cost them at least 34.6 cents to send. This is not even attempting to account for the labor costs of operating the computers, programming them, and hauling the internal mail around before handing it to the USPS. Here’s the envelope:
Almost simultaneous to sending me this refund, they sent me my usual quarterly bill. Couldn’t they just credit me a penny?
Now I’m trying to think of the most expensive way to cash or process this check.
